Milking system > Dairymaster > Swiftflo Milking Parlor
Operating from its Head Office in Causeway, Co. Kerry, Ireland, Dairymaster is one of the world's leading dairy farm equipment manufacturers.

The secret of Dairymaster's world-wide success is the company's unfaltering commitment to ongoing research and development, superior product quality and excellent customer service and support.

Research and Development
Over the past thirty years, Dairymaster has researched all aspects of dairy farming and dairy herd management from its own in-house R&D department and has developed unique technologically advanced solutions aimed at making dairy farming more profitable by reducing long term costs and labour inputs. This is achieved principally through focusing on getting the basics right and also computerisation of the milking parlor.

Dairymaster Cluster
The Dairymaster Cluster has been scientifically engineered for excellent milk out and low slippage while still being gentle on cows. Research has shown it to have the most stable milking vacuum, while applying a very low vacuum in the rest phase. Further studies have shown our cluster to have the lowest slip levels and also excellent milk out - so much so that in a recent trial over a full lactation our cluster yielded 5% more when compared to another commonly used commercially available cluster.
The cluster is a unique combination of the Dairymaster claw, shells and our super soft 916S liner. It is produced from high-grade impact resistant materials which enhances both durability and hygiene. Milk flow is clearly visible through its transparent bowl.
It has evolved over several years of scientific research and trials to design the ideal milking cluster.

The Dairymaster cluster produces a high stable milking vacuum during the milking phase and drops in the rest period. This leads to excellent milkout and improved udder health by reducing stress on the teat. We have examined the effects of sizing on all aspects of cluster design, from the liner geometry, short milk tube diameter, claw volume and claw diameter to total cluster weight.

The Dairymaster Cluster when used with our pulsation promotes optimum results concerning milk output, cow comfort, fast milking, no fall offs and maximum milk yield.

Swiftflo Revolver Rotally Parlor
The Dairymaster Swiftflo Revolver Milking Parlor is the world's most advanced rotary parlor system. All of our technology in commercial parlor may be utilized in this system and many new developments in this unique design. The picture below is 60 unit fully automated Dairymaster Swiftflo Revolver Milking Parlor. This parlor is capable of a throughput of in excess of 5000kg of milk in one hour.

When the milking unit is activated the cluster is released and an auto-retention device drops behind the cow; this ensures that she is retained in position while the cluster is still active. Milk may be diverted at the touch of a button. The milk flowing through the main milk line is recorded using the Dairymaster Weighall Milk Mater. When milking is complete, the cows milking pattern is compared to previous milkings and if a normal milking has taken place the auto retention device is lifted; otherwise the retention device remains in place and the cow is retained for inspection by the cups on operator. In this situation there is no requirement for a cups off operator.
Afterwards cows may be segregated using robotic drafting and teat sprayed using our automatic teat sprayer.

Swiftflo Swing Parlor
Swiftflo Parlor is one of the most efficient, comfortable and friendly milking system available. Underneath this visually appealing exterior is some of the most researched, technologically advanced milking equipment in the world today.

Progressive dairy farmers choose this milking system based on its ease of operation and high throughput in terms of cows per hour and litters of milk per operator per hour. Operator and cow comfort are second to none as these parlors are designed to provide maximum comfort with a view to increasing efficiency and throughput.

The picture above is a 20 unit fully automated Dairymaster Swiftflo Parlor. Milk tubes are shorter and the pit space is clear due to the swing over arms. Milk Meter control units are within easy reach and the operator has an unobstructed view of the LCD display screen. The AquaJetz wash line is underneath the cow standing.

This 20 units parlor is capable of a throughput of in excess of 2400kg of milk in one hour.

Liner and Pulsator
Super soft liners are specially designed and manufactured to ensure high performance with exceptional milking characteristics, low slip levels and excellent durability.
In the research programme in conjunction with Moorepark, Dairymaster has focused on developing a liner with the lowest level of slippage, complete milk out and excellent liner wall movement. The result has been its 916S liner.

Pulsator's Digital controllers display the pulsation rate and ratio on the front panel. The number of outputs in use is selected based on the size of installation. Vacuum consumption is minimised as a result of phased outputs.

These electronic pulsators are specially designed for flushing out with hot water to maintain excellent pulsation graphs and better hygiene.
An air filtration line interconnects the pulsators, which also helps to maintain hygiene. This also minimises noise levels by obtaining air from outside the milking parlor.
A special adapter is fitted to the end of the filtration line to filter the clean air supply.
Scientific research shows that this is the most suitable teat end vacuum for both milking and rest phases.

Automatic Cluster Remover
Automatic Cluster Remover accurately and consistently monitors the flow of milk during milking. When milking is finished, vacuum is removed and the cluster is detached from the cow.

· Stainless steel ram construction ensures maximum durability and reliability.
· It is the only cluster remover that can monitor flow in two milk lines and allows milk to be diverted at the touch of a button.
· A unique flow sensor accurately monitors end of milking detection.
· Wash mode can be selected at just one milking unit.
· Easy adjustment. All settings can be modified from one point.
· Remove override function.
· Restart facility.
· Option of swing arm operation.
-Gentle removal. Vacuum is removed from the claw before the ram is activated

Milk Diversion Lines
Dairymaster have designed a unique milk diversion system. The system consists of a separate milk line, diversion valve (shown opposite), receiver and milk pump.
Milk can be diverted by operating a switch or pressing a button. The milk diversion line can be used with milk meters, automatic cluster removers or standalone.
There is no need for any pipe disconnection or other attachments to the milking equipment for either milking or washing.

Weighall Milk Meter
The Dairymaster Weighall milk meter is unlike other meters because it weighs all the milk as it passes through from the cow to the milk line.

The meters modular design allows it to operate as a standalone electronic milk meter or can be fully integrated into a completely automated system.

In automated systems it may be integrated with AutoID, where the animal identification is updated on the display when a new cow enters the parlor.

It also functions as a terminal for messages from the Milk Manager software on the PC.

Finally the meter is fully approved by the International Committee for Animal Recording (ICAR) and the Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA).

AutoID System
The Dairymaster AutoID system can be installed in all types of parlor from side by side and double ups to rotary platform systems.
A passive ear tag is attached to each cow; when she passes an antenna at the entrance to the parlor or in a robotic drafting crate the ear tag sends a signal to the reader which passes this message to a PC which identifies the cow precisely. This identification may be used to control feeding, voice messaging, robotic drafting etc.
Our reader system reads tags, which use the ISO half-duplex system. The ISO international standard for electronic tag numbering is the method for international electronic tag numbering.
Identification is reliable and accurate - this is often presumed but not delivered with other systems.

Milk Manager for Windows (Cow Management Program)
It is user friendly and integrates fully parlor equipment providing information whenever you need it. Complete information on milk weights, milking time, feeding, milk composition, veterinary data, cow sorting and live body weights can be easily accessed which means opimum cow monitoring and control.
Features:
· User definable visual and sound messages for operator attention may be recorded or alternatively a library of supplied message may be used.
· Sound message may be in any language.
· An extensive range of reports is available and custom reports are easily created.
· Data can be easily imported and exported in many international formats including CSV, XLS, DOC, RTF and HTML.
· Only one computer is needed to control equipment and run the management features, although multiple computers can be linked through a local area network.

· Interfaces with Dairymaster AutoID, Milk meters, feeding, robotic diversion and sound messaging.
